What you eat CAN help you age gracefully.

Having great skin is something everyone would like to have. In order to take care of your skin, you need to focus on both the inside and the outside. An adequate diet (or lack of) can directly affect your skin’s appearance. So make sure to take care of both the inside and the outside.

Add these great anti-aging food choices to your regular diet to help reduce the signs of aging:

* Berries: Antioxidant rich fruits like raspberries, blueberries and strawberries can help heal and smooth weathered skin. Colorful berries have a variety of other powerful antioxidants that repair and protect your skin’s cells. Berries are also full of Vitamin C, another potent antioxidant that may help keep your complexion looking smooth by fighting skin damaging free-radicals.

* Wild Salmon: Foods such as wild salmon and fish oil are rich in omega-3 fatty acids – a key ingredient for beautiful skin. Omega-3 fatty acids prevent dehydration of skin cells and thus promote younger looking skin by reducing drying and thinning.

* Nuts & Flax Seed: Nuts and seed such as flax seeds are excellent sources of “healthy fat” and antioxidants, and minerals which are all tied to maintaining younger looking skin. The healthy fat in nuts benefits the elastin and collagen in skin, helping to maintaining skin’s structure and keep it resilient. But remember to eat only a small handful of nuts, as they are still healthy “fat”.

* Carrots: Carrots, pumpkins, apricots, and other orange-colored produce are full of beta-carotene and Vitamin A. These super anti-oxidants are good for both your skin and eyes and helps the skin to defend again skin damage.

* Water: Good hydration plays an important role in keeping skin healthy and young. Although you may not be thirsty, it is important to drink plenty of water (a recommended 8 glasses a day). Drinking water has the ability to rid the body of toxins and maintains a healthy outer glow.

* Red Wine: Resveratrol is found in red wine and has many anti-aging properties. It is another potent antioxidant.
