Here is a link to her post and her blog: Beauty by Sydney.
We strive for each one of our customers to be just as happy as Sydney.
Here’s a New Year’s resolution you can keep: drink more wine! It reinforces a healthier lifestyle and starting now, may prevent weight gain according to Richard Baxter, MD, author of the award-winning new book Age Gets Better with Wine: New Science For a Healthier, Better & Longer Life.
Baxter shares the scientific reasons why moderate wine consumption should be an everyday ritual; “Compounds in red wine work at a cellular level to lessen the negative effects of high-fat holiday meals, and help keep blood sugar levels in check. These are some of the reasons why wine drinkers are less likely to be overweight,” Baxter notes.
Baxter’s advice is that the wine be red and that the older the vintage, the better. He cautions to keep alcohol consumption reasonable. “Moderation is the key, and while wine is not a low-calorie drink, it doesn’t contain the sugar calories of many mixed drinks, and calories from alcohol avoid the spike in blood sugar that contributes to weight gain.”
Dr. Baxter is a top-rated, board-certified plastic surgeon and anti-aging expert. He has lectured extensively on wine and health and published original research on resveratrol. He is a Medical Director of Calidora Skin Clinics, Medical Director of Healthy Aging, and has been featured in Elle, Web MD, New Beauty, and Spa Magazine. Baxter is a member of the Emerging Trends Committee of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Recently named the best new wine and health book in America by Gourmand, Baxter’s Age Gets Better with Wine: New Science For a Healthier, Better & Longer Life is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Borders.
Men and women of all ages come to visit us at Calidora, and although each client is different, there are some common themes that our clients face as their skin ages. Here are some of the most common treatments that we provide to our clients by their age:
20’s – Monthly facials to ensure that your skin stays toned and moisturized. We often suggest laser acne treatments for any problem areas and laser hair removal, the simplest way to groom for our clients in their twenties.
30’s- Botox and other fillers for aesthetic enhancement and prevention of fine lines and wrinkles are a common treatment for women in their thirties. Monthly facials with home care anti-aging/antioxidant products can go a long way toward maintaining your complexion. As with other age groups, adequate use of sunscreen is imperative to reduce the signs of aging. Additionally our Accent treatment for cellulite reduction, body smoothing and contouring can help any trouble areas including the tummy and legs.
40’s- Laser light therapies can reverse sun damage, improving both the color and texture of your skin. Chemical peels can do wonders for skin rejuvenation. We often recommend the Titan for skin lifting and tightening at early signs ageing, often caused by fat loss in the face
50’s and Beyond- Fillers for the cheeks and around the eyes for the areas that have lost their fullness or flattened over time are common for women in their fifties. These treatments can keep your appearance soft and useful without looking fake or manufactured. Furthermore, appropriate usage of antioxidant products or other anti aging products can help maintain the skin.
