If you want to learn more about Dysport here are some interesting facts:
Dysport is botulinum toxin A called abobotulinumtoxinA. This is the same drug as Botox but has a slightly different manufacturing process and size of molecule. It is a neuromuscular blocking agent approved for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe glabellar (frown) lines associated with movement of the corrugator and procerus muscle in patients.
Dysport has been used in Europe since the early 1990’s for the treatment of cervical dystonia (crooked neck from muscle spasm) and also used for cosmetic purposes similar to botox. The name comes from cervical Dystonia.
Dysport has recently been FDA approved in the US.
It has been observed that the onset of action is about 24-48 hours with Dysport, making it faster than Botox.
It has been reported that patients that have failed treatment with Botox have responded to Dysport.

Thakns for the informative post. I have heard a lot about Dysport but hadn’t heard any real details. As a Botox user this sounds like a great and faster alternative.

I have tried both Dysport and Botox.
Dysport definitely worked faster than botox in my experience, as well as lasting longer. I first noticed my botox wearing off during the second month of having it, wheras with dysport I did not notice it wearing off until month three, and it’s been four months now and I can only now see it’s about time to make another appointment.
It’s a toss-up, but I think I’d choose dysport again next time.
